Adding new abilities/placement/items would be great but fundamentally what kills it is that the % scaling is awful. The npcs have like 30% more health/damage but you've got 400% more or each. I see people say it's always been like that, asides DS2, but being awful in past games is no excuse for not improving after decades of experience.
